FAQ

  • Mysore class is named after Mysore, India, the home of Ashtanga Yoga. It is the best way to begin. You don’t need to know anything about yoga to participate — just show up and I will teach you. Then, keep showing up.

The class is open for students to come and go during the hours listed.  Everyone is working at their own pace so newer students might have a 20 - 30 minute practice, while a more seasoned student may be working two series at a time making their practice 2 hours long.  Students are free to arrive at any time during the class hours so long as they are finished by the end of class.

  • The Practice Room is very small, so please limit the amount of things you carry into the room. We have a spot to keep your shoes and hooks to hang bags and coats. A mat and possibly a small towel is all you will likely need.

  • Yes. I have  a limited number of mats free to loan. If you know you need a mat, please email me to reserve one.

  • Expect to work 20-30 minutes for your first few classes. Every student’s timeline is different. The more you show up to practice, the more ready the body becomes to add onto the sequences. The full primary series is roughly 90 minutes long.

  • It depends on what you are looking to get out of this practice. Traditionally, we practice 6 days a week with one rest day.  In the beginning it is best to make a commitment you can stick with to build a successful routine. Beginners are asked to practice at least 3 times a week and build upwards from there.

  • The door of 10B will be propped open for you to enter. Please leave the door stop in place for other students because it auto-locks when closed. Go up the stairs, into the lobby, down the hall to room #206. Unfortunately, the building is not ADA accessible.  There is only one entrance (no elevator) and there are two short flights of stairs to climb to enter the second floor where we are located.

  • There is plenty of free parking on the square. Please note that M-F from 8-5 there is a time limit on parking and you will get a parking ticket if you stay longer than the time allowed. After 5pm and during the weekend there is no time limit enforced. There is also free parking at the parking garage located at 223 N Maple St. Murfreesboro, TN 37130.
